Here goes nothing!

Hello to my myself or whoever else is reading this! I am currently on baby-leave, and in a weird limbo-stage of life. My life is filled with overwhelming blessing and prosperity for a 29 year old with a young family, but I find myself wanting to do more with my time, and resist the urge to doom-scroll on my phone during the down moments of the day. While this will certainly not always be the case, I find myself with time on my hands, and not knowing exactly what to do with it.

I am also a note-taker at heart. Writing down my thoughts as always helped to engrain them in my brain, and that is how I came upon this idea for a blog. In recent months I have been challenging myself to learn more, both spiritually, and mentally. I have the physical training down (Hyrox, golf, tennis, etc.) but I know that I can do more for my heart and brain during this admittedly less than challenging period of my life. After reading books like Mere Christianity in my men’s group, and listening to the Ben Sasse ‘Not dead yet’ podcast among others, I have learned some valuable lessons, but I am terrified it will be in vain if I forget it all! Here comes the Coolbaugh Chronicle. Hopefully, as I continue to challenge myself by reading and listening to podcasts, I will use my posts as a chance to reflect on things I learned.

Ok that’s only part of the reason for the blog…as a professional sports enthusiast, I need a medium to share my thoughts. I don’t want to start posting on twitter, and my fantasy football group chat never gives me the dialogue or feedback I am looking for, so I will happily include a sports section in my posts here as well. Just in time for football season to start. Let’s see how this goes and how long it actually lasts for…
